NYT Bestseller Ken Follett’s Latest Historical Mystery ‘Circle of Days’ Hits Shelves This Fall

Ken Follett is a bestselling British author of over 30 books, from thrillers to spy novels and historical fiction. Born in Wales and raised in London, he began his career in journalism before moving into publishing as an editor at a small British press. He gained fame with his book Eye of the Needle, a World War II spy thriller that earned him the Edgar Award for Best Novel in 1979 and international bestseller status.
In the late 1980s, Follett published The Pillars of the Earth, the first book in his Kingsbridge series. Set in the fictional 12th-century medieval town of Kingsbridge, each book weaves the lives of a new generation of people living in the walls of the town. He’s also known for the Century Trilogy, a three book series following five families around the world living through some of the biggest events of the 20th century, including World War I and the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Now, Follett returns with his newest book Circle of Days, set to be published in September 2025 by Grand Central Publishing. This prequel to The Pillars of the Earth, explores the mystery of Stonehenge and imagines the lives of the people who might have been around to build it.
The story follows a younger Brother Aldred, a character introduced in the original series, and offers a closer look at the events that helped shape him.
With a writing career that spans nearly fifty years, Follett’s books have been translated into many languages, adapted for film and television, and have sold millions of copies worldwide. Whether you’re a dedicated fan or discovering his work for the first time, Circle of Days is a great place to start.
